Frost/Nixon
With his usual filmmaking flair, Ron Howard has taken a great play and made it even better, perfectly preserving the performances by Frank Langella and Michael Sheen that made Peter Morgan's work so special and embellishing them with an equally talented supporting cast.

Punisher: War Zone
Bad writing, worse acting and violence that redefines the word "excessive" makes it clear that The Punisher is one Marvel character that probably should stay in the comic books.

Australia
Baz Luhrmann's long-awaited follow-up to "Moulin Rouge!" may be too long and full of the type of clichéd film ideals we rarely see in movies anymore, but it's also as glorious and majestic as the continent it champions.

Four Christmases
As family holiday comedies go you could do a lot worse than "Four Christmases." It's too sparse in the comedy to be really successful--every good joke is in the commercials--but it's got some heart and that counts for something. It's a lot better than "Fred Claus," anyway.

Transporter 3
Still, you know exactly what kind of movie this is. If that's your cup of tea, more power to you. You're going to get exactly what you expect out of it. And if it's not, don't bother.

Bolt
"Bolt" is a pleasant surprise from Disney. With great character animation, hilarious jokes, cool action scenes, and a strong supporting cast, this is a movie that will not only entertain families but adult audiences as well. Definitely check it out in 3-D if you can.

Twilight
Essentially, a CW take on Anne Rice, catering to the gooey-eyed fans of Meyers novels and their unrealistic romantic expectations. If one really must see a vampire love story this weekend, they should skip this and go see Let the Right One In.

Twilight
"Twilight" is intent on introducing its world and the characters who live there, but not much else.

Quantum of Solace
"Quantum of Solace" may not be as openly clever or as witty as "Casino Royale" but it's far more intelligent and relevant to today's world, and ultimately, that's what makes it a respectable Bond sequel.
